So blessed to have to assemblages voted in to the Gateway to the Imagination show in Farmington New Mexico . Titled Brush of the Master: Relic 2 and 3.
.This artwork began with a collection images and found objects. Inspiration stems from an inner guidance, and intuition. I begin each piece with these in mind and hand, begin to add subtract, layer each piece, and bring together the artwork. Combining religion and found objects, I craft assemblages that contrast several influences to create new ways of expression.

Very blessed to have one assemblage showing in Chico CA this month, September 7-27, 2018. At the Chico Art Center you can see a collection of wonderful art, and my work Brush of the Master : Relic One. https://chicoarts.org/cac/national-juried-exhibition/
Brush of the Master: Relic 1. This artwork began with a collection images and found objects. Inspiration stems from an inner guidance, and intuition. I begin each piece with these in mind and hand, begin to add subtract, layer each piece, and bring together the artwork. Combining religion and found objects, I craft assemblages that contrast several influences to create new ways of expression.
Think of the brush of the master in this manner:
Your Father, Grandfather, or loved one, has left you a special object. You place it in your dresser, and look at it from time to time. Viewing the object brings back warm memoires, and good feelings about that person.
Now, say, each morning you wake up you see this beautiful creation, and how wonderful it is. You marvel in its beauty. It takes your breath away, and you just look and stare. And the artist says to you: here is the brush I used to create this beautiful work.
Now, say, the brush is from God. And he says to you, “The Holy Spirit has given you my brush, go and create for you are my beloved one.”
Key to the Kingdom Series
Key to the Kingdom, Assemblage by Dennis Jordan
This artwork began with a collection found objects, and salvaged wood. Inspiration stems from and old door plate and key. I began this piece with these in mind and hand, begin to add subtract paper scraps, layer each piece, and bring together the artwork. Combining religion and found objects, I craft assemblages that contrast several influences to create new ways of expression.
Each assemblage has a small pocket religious figure hidden in the artwork. Look through the keyhole and see the Virgin Mary or Jesus.
Portals are also located on the side to view the figure.

Virgin Mary in a Reclaimed Frame
This framed icon of the Virgin Mary holds a spiritually lifting image of the Virgin Mary covered in Art Resin.
Using a reclaimed picture frame, I coated the frame with flat black, covered in gold and rubbed off with red. Leaving a unique one of a kind finish.
Total frame size is 9 ¾” high x 7 3/4” and about 1 inch deep.
This framed icon is intended to hang on the wall by the saw-tooth hanger I have mounted on the back.
The Virgin Mary image is mounted high, raised, surrounded a black background, and covered in Art Resin.
This artwork has been created for you to draw inspiration from. My goal is to merge the images together into something which is joyful and beautiful to look at. Artist Ian Knowles says, “It is like a door through which the saint or Christ himself comes and is present to the worshipper, and graces and blesses them, and you find yourself caught up in heaven through these images.” That is what I hope this icon wall plaque does for you.
